I saw Liane two and a half years ago, when I was feeling so stressed and preoccupied with terrorism and world tensions that I was finding it hard to focus on anything else, having dark thoughts and seeing threats from all sides. After 5 or so sessions with her I was able to switch off from the fear, and despite international events becoming possibly even worse since, I’ve continued to be rational about them and not let them take over my daily life as they had been doing. Liane gave me simple mental tasks, weekly, to gauge how I was coping, and although I remind myself of them very occasionally, I’m not really aware of having to do anything special about the problem. It’s simply been minimised and become manageable. I’m very grateful to have found such a gentle and sensitive therapist. The experience has given me the impression that many problems could be tackled in this way, and it’s so worthwhile to try it.
